Visitors Services Assistant
Pallant House Gallery is seeking a Visitors Services Assistant! Visitor Services Assistants are vital member of the Front of House Visitor Services team; they contribute to the Gallery’s all-round visitor experience; help to ensure excellent customer service; and make sure that safety and security procedures are adhered to at all times. As the first point of contact for visitors and volunteers, they are important ambassadors for the Gallery and play a significant role in upholding the Gallery’s brand and values.
Main Responsibilities:
To assist the Head of Visitor Services to create a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors, including groups and schools, guests, Friends and Patrons and volunteers
To respond to enquires in person, on the phone and via email in a timely, professional and efficient manner and forward the enquiry or information if necessary
To sell and promote exhibition tickets, talks, tours and any other events and services, maximising Gift Aid, sales and profits and encouraging stand-alone donations
To support the Head of Visitor Services and the Visitor Services & Facilities Manager with promoting Friends and Patrons memberships and assisting with the administration of the Gallery's Friends membership scheme
To monitor and maintain the Gallery's environmental systems to ensure that the required environmental conditions are maintained, reporting any changes to the Duty Manager or Curatorial team
To support the Visitor Services Supervisor with administration of volunteer Gallery Assistants, so that they can undertake their duties to a high standard
To maintain excellent standards of housekeeping throughout the Gallery's public and private spaces, reporting any health and safety concerns to the Duty Manager on duty.
